The Mt. Yasur Volcano is situated approximately 20 minutes from Turtle Bay Inn. We'll be happy to take you via 4WD on a tour to the volcano and we can provide other local excursion options. If privacy and intimacy is more on your mind then we can arrange to take you to a special spot on an isolated beach away from any possible distractions.
For those more extreme sport enthusiasts, you can try your hand at kite surfing on Konaeras Beach, with constant onshore winds and a large area of shallow water. Nature walkers have their fair share to choose from also.
All the bungalows are spacious and made from local material utilizing traditional methods. They are all well ventilated with their own balconies. Continental breakfast is included with the room rate.At all times, we have endeavoured to build with natural timbers sourced locally and care has been taken to maintain the natural beauty of the area.
Locally villagers have been employed to work at the resort providing valuable income to their communities.
The Turtle Bay Inn fronts a white sandy beach and will make you feel like one of the characters in the "Robinson Crusoe" novel written by Daniel Defoe. Your bungalows are located in a shipshape garden setting located just 20 metres from the beach and close to a number of leisurely tracks which will guide you toward Port Resolution, Shark Bay and the local villages.
Turtle Bay Inn is a quaint retreat meeting all your essential requirements and ensuring maximum relaxation. A traditional French influenced cuisine will make sure your appetite never goes unfulfilled.
The Island has no power except for a generator which provides electricity from the hours of 6pm through till 9pm. The tap water is heated naturally from the underground magma!
